Semnan Science and Technology Park (SSTP)

Launched in 2002, Semnan Science and Technology Park (SSTP) represents the merger of several regional research centers with the goal of increasing the efficiency of technology development in Iran.Located on a 37-hectare (92-acre) site in the vicinity of several universities, including Shahrood University of Technology, Islamic Azad University, Damghan University, Golestan University, Semnan University and several other academic and research centers in the region, and with easy access to Industrial Towns of Shahrood, Damghan, Semnan, Mahdishahr and Garmsar, SSTP has become a major hub for more than 300 startups, SMEs and leading global tech companies. SSTP mentors and supports a network of startups and rising tech ventures, and has a value chain of acceleration, incubation, and funding programs. SSTP is an extensive and comprehensive center for scientific, technical and engineering services for both resident companies and the wider community. It maximizes the economic potential of the region with its focus on ICT including artificial intelligence, IoT and blockchain; agriculture and natural resources, mining, geology, Nanotechnology through hiring skilled experts in implicating knowledge-based economic plans. Facilities for resident companies include specialized laboratories focusing on Nanotech, Soil Chemistry, Water and Sewage, Microbiology and Biotechnology, Image Processing Labs and also the Rock and Jewel Lab. The park also hosts all the incubators throughout Semnan province.The Water, Energy and Agriculture Innovation Center and the Innovation Center of Geology, Mining and Mining industries of SSTP support the establishment of advanced R&D units; identify and record new ideas in specialized fields; plan to support technological ideas up to the prototype stage; develop and approve the acceptance of new ideas to enter the Innovation Center; provide financial, administrative and credit support services to the center's eligible ideas, and finally hold conferences at the national, regional and international levels to exchange views and expand cooperation among experts.
